ENER-G is, once again, delighted to be a sponsor of The Salford Business Awards, which is inviting entries for 2014.

Businesses of all sizes and industries from the city are invited to enter one or more of the eight categories, which include awards for innovation, entrepreneurship and work in the community.

The closing date for entries to the Awards, which are jointly organised by Salford City Council, The University of Salford and The Business Group Salford, is Friday 28th February.

Following judging and shortlisting in April, winners and runners-up will be announced at a ceremony held at Salford City Stadium on Thursday 5th June 2014. Headline sponsor for the awards is TalkTalk Technology.

Applying for the Awards is simple and applications will be accepted from any Salford-based business online at the 2014 Salford Business Awards website. The award categories are:

- Innovation
- Excellence
- Energy and Environment
- Community
- Entrepreneur
- International Trade
- Rising Star
- Best Employer

All applicants are automatically entered into the Business of the Year Award.

Peter Law,  Operations Director for ENER-G, said: "As a Salford-based sustainable energy business, ENER-G is delighted to sponsor the Energy and Environment Award and to salute local business excellence in environmental performance.  As previous Salford Business Award winners, including the coveted Business of the Year, ENER-G realise the pride and prestige of being shortlisted and winning."

Salford City Mayor Ian Stewart said: "These Awards are a great way to celebrate the success of businesses in Salford. I have made it a priority to support local businesses and to attract further inward investment from across Britain and around the world."

Martin Hall, Vice Chancellor of the University of Salford, said: "The University is a key driver of the local economy and, working alongside Salford City Council and The Business Group Salford, we're committed to supporting the growth of both new and existing businesses in Salford.

Paul Wainwright, chair of The Business Group Salford, said: "The Salford Business Awards is now well established as a permanent fixture in the North West events calendar and attracts businesses of all sizes from all sectors. Speaking as a member of the judging panel it is always inspiring to see the calibre of entrants and a challenge to choose the winners. I look forward to an equally difficult decision this year."
