Introduction to Combined Heat and Power (CHP) - invitation to IET Lecture

Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Midlands Power Group seminar - 13 November at 6pm, Birmingham

Chris Marsland, Technical Director of ENER-G Combined Power will deliver a free lecture on CHP.

He will provide an overview of CHP, including how the technology works, best applications for CHP, current legislation and incentives, and possible pitfalls. The lecture will be illustrated with case study examples - demonstrating how CHP has been used to reduce costs and carbon emissions across leisure, healthcare, industry, residential and retail applications.

ENER-G is European market leader in CHP - offering  the broadest combined heat and power product range (4kW to 10MW) in the UK market. ENER-G has accumulated  more than 30 million hours of operating experience across 1,400 installed cogeneration systems.

As Technical Director, Chris is responsible for the engineering content of all ENER-G's CHP projects as well as taking a leading role in product design. He is part of a major research consortium to find innovative new ways of ' keeping the lights on' and decarbonising energy supplies across the UK, as demand increases. This involves using clusters of CHP systems within a Virtual Power Plant to reinforce supply.
